Sabretooth is Ben Fraser's psychedelic brainchild.
The eponymous album is the result of 12 months' experimentation in the studio, and has developed from Ben applying his trademark driving basslines, hypnotic grooves, uplifting melodies and blistering acid lines to the full-on psy trance sound. The 11 tracks progress from deep psy workouts, through a darker techier sound, emerging into full-on anthems, and concluding with cavernous digidub.
Ben's early apprentiship in punk drumming and acid techno production gives his music a gritty edge and a realism so often lacking in electronic music, whilst retaining his usual crystal-clear production. In his own words: "Goa trance was my first love in terms of dance music. I feel that with my Sabretooth project and the resulting album, I was able come full-circle musically and produce a set of songs in the modern equivalent, the full-on psy trance sound. I fused elements from a variety of musical influences, from techno through to punk, to create what I feel is a very complete set of tracks, whilst ensuring I adhered to only the highest of production values along the way."
